Nazareth Villages

A Ministry of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth

Nazareth Villages is an apartment facility for persons who are 62 years old or older, or for individuals with disabilities. The complex is located on the beautiful campus of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth just outside historic Bardstown, Kentucky.

After Nazareth College merged and became Spalding University in 1971, several buildings on the Campus of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth were available to serve other needs. Aware of the increasing numbers of elderly persons in our society with special housing needs, the Sisters responded and entered the housing ministry by opening Nazareth Village I in 1979. One resident says of the villages, "I have made mistakes in my life … but choosing to move to Nazareth Villages surely wasn't one of them. I love it here. Nazareth is my home and I can't imagine living anywhere else."
